You can remove and add Recycle Bin, Control Panel, Computer, User’s Files and Network folders on your desktop. Follow the steps below to add and remove system folders if that is why you are here.
WINDOW 7
- Click on the start menu in window 7 or press on the window key on the keyboard.
- Search the word “Desktop icons”.
- From the search results find and click on “Show or hide common icons on the desktop”.
- You should be presented with this window.
- Tick the icons you want on the desktop and uncheck the ones you don’t want on the desktop.
- Now click on OK.
VOILÀ!
WINDOW 8 AND 8.1
- Press the window key plus the s-key on the keyboard to launch the search charm.
- Search the word “Desktop icons”.
- From the search results find and click on “Show or hide common icons on the desktop”
- You should be presented with this window.
- Tick the icons you want on the desktop and uncheck the ones you don’t want on the desktop.
- Click on OK.
